Pros

Providers have some control over how long a patient visit needs to be. The company hires people who have had the same struggles as the patients and many of the staff members are genuinely passionate about their jobs. The company does fun activities with the patients for holidays.

Cons

Profits are prioritized over patient safety. There are not enough staff members to handle the acuity or volume of patients most of the time. Management tolerates medication errors, medication misplacements, hostility/attitude towards struggling patients. There is inconsistency with expectations for patients leading to some patients getting "administratively discharged" at times but other clients get to stay when similar behavior is observed. The benefits are TERRIBLE. A provider gets roughly 3 weeks TOTAL of PTO in a year (same as all other staff members), it can only be rolled into the next year until March 31; if you don't use it you lose it and it does not start accruing for any employee until after 90 days. The 401K match is only 3%. Call is required including weekends for providers and admissions are moving towards 24 hours a day. There is 0 admin time. Real live hours put into the job is more like 50-60 hours per week.

Pros

Supportive leadership that is approachable and willing to help. Great teamwork across departments—people genuinely work together. Opportunities to make a real difference in clients' lives every day. Fast-paced environment that keeps the work engaging. Strong focus on professional growth and learning. Collaborative culture where staff support one another. Meaningful relationships with clients and coworkers. Good communication between clinical and operations teams. A workplace that values compassion and recovery. Plenty of opportunities to develop case management and behavioral health skills.

Cons

Some days are emotionally demanding. Documentation never seems to end. Crisis situations can change your entire schedule in minutes. You become an expert at multitasking whether you wanted to or not. Your coffee gets cold because you're always helping someone. Discharge days can get hectic. Insurance and authorization issues can be frustrating. There are never enough hours in the day to get everything done. You start using treatment acronyms in everyday conversations. Clients will somehow always find you right when you're about to take lunch.
