Pros

Car and gas provided to new managers. Not nearly enough to make up for the cons.

Cons

Summary. The onerous training and responsibilities of the position far outweigh the compensation. About that car, you have to turn it in and get another one every few days. What a pain. It's just a hook. You'll need it to go from site to site as you train. Training Seven months of computer based and field training, and hours of conference calls practicing the sales pitch to take as much money out of customers pockets and but put very little into yours. Every hour of your 7 mo. training schedule is outlined on a beautiful 15 page document, not to mention the hundreds of pages you need to print (on your dime) and read (on your time) in preparation for weekly quizzes. Pay Low! Very Low! The initial offer was presented as a salary. Come to find out during some "water cooler talk" with HR, the pay is " hourly for the first 5 or 6 weeks of training" and "no overtime is allowed during training". However the company expects you to work whatever amount of hours it takes to get the job done (when you're on salary). How nice of AVIS. Support AVIS spends a tremendous amount of time resources telling you what you need to do to succeed, but provides little resources to help you do it. In the field you'd be hard pressed to find a decent PC and printer. The laptop computers they promised to provide during training never arrived. They didn't arrived for the manager trainees that joined the company months before I did either. I guess they're still on "back-order".

Pros

Avis Budget Group is a phenomenal company that invests in their people through care, communication, and recognition. I believe that leadership is authentic and genuine taking the time to ensure alignment and buy-in at all levels of the organization. The company also invests heavily in innovation and is poised to continue making strides in becoming the best vehicle rental company in the world. I am excited to see the future of Avis Budget as we embark on a historic celebration of 80 years ! This is a great place to work with endless opportunities.

Cons

At this time I don’t feel that there are necessarily cons, I think the company is rapidly changing to remain competitive in highly competitive environment and as we grow we will continue to improve opportunities identified.

Pros

I've been with Avis Budget Group for 16 years, and one of the biggest reasons I've stayed is the opportunity for growth. I've had multiple promotions throughout my career because the company has consistently been willing to invest in people who work hard, take ownership, and deliver results. No two days are ever the same, which keeps the work interesting. I've had the chance to lead teams in multiple markets, work alongside talented leaders, and continually develop new skills. The business is fast-paced, but it gives you the opportunity to make decisions, solve problems, and have a real impact on both customers and employees. I've worked with leaders who genuinely care about developing talent, and many of the people I've worked with have built long-term careers here. If you're willing to put in the effort, there are significant opportunities to grow professionally and take on increasing levels of responsibility. The company also continues to invest in new technology and operational improvements, making it easier to serve customers and support employees.

Cons

Like any customer-facing operation, there are busy periods that can be demanding, especially during holidays and peak travel seasons. Success requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs. The pace isn't for everyone, but for people who enjoy problem-solving, leadership, and working in an environment where every day is different, those challenges become opportunities to learn and grow.
