Disappointing - Sales Axiom Law Employee Review

Pros

Culture is strong and people want to help each other

Cons

Comp is way below market value and the idea that they promote fairly from within is a joke. Since private equity took over, morale has tanked. What used to make this place special has been gutted in the name of hitting numbers for a future sale. Outside heads swoop in, tell you what you already know, and collect a check while the people actually doing the work get squeezed. Management is obsessed with KPIs and activity to the point where it feels like you're being monitored every hour of every day. Context doesn't matter, only whether your numbers are green. Decisions get made based purely on what looks good on a spreadsheet, and anyone who pushes back with a nuanced perspective gets ignored. Miscommunication at the highest levels of leadership is shocking

Pros

Junior, less experienced, and some senior lawyers may be able to land some engagements to list on their resumes. One or all may even help them find a permanent role or more temporary roles, but most likely they will spend considerable time without an engagement - "on the beach" - as it is known.

Cons

The harsh reality of platforms like Axiom is that they market themselves as an elite executive sandbox, but in practice, they often operate as high-volume, low-margin staffing agencies. This is Axiom. They capture the premium from the client, pay the attorney a relatively low hourly wage (your plumber and electrician probably make more), leaves the attorney with commoditized commercial contracts (NDAs, vendor MSAs), and trap true C-suite legal minds in a bureaucratic layer with minimal benefits.
