Pros
Amazing colleagues and leaders in the CS org. The people care and are talented, creative, and hardworking. Extremely high performers. I've definitely made friends for life at Axonify. Opportunity to try new things, as aligned with the company values. Plenty of interesting work to do. The offices are great, and the P and C team does a lot to create a strong culture, such as an annual Settlers of Catan tournament. Product direction is genuinely exciting, solving a big untapped black box in the space. AI work is genuinely world-class, both product features and use of internal tools. Customers are great and create interesting problems to solve, with complicated setups. Remote work opportunities. Weaknesses in the product have been massively improved, the team is innovating a lot.
Cons
I can see why the negative reviews are here. A lot of layoffs have created a lot of uncertainty in the organisation, and a lot of people are fearful for the future. Many friendship groups were torn up, and quality people were let go who had been part of the organisation for a while. Much of this talent could have been used elsewhere to improve processes that are, in some parts, lacking. Work can be siloed, creating overlapping project efforts. There is little thought given to research for the product analytics and deeply understanding themes, trends, usage patterns, etc. Onboarding does not give you hands-on experience with the product, and for many colleagues, onboarding was not amazingly structured. I'd love to give the overall rating a higher star count as it genuinely could deserve it, but all of the layoffs have created a place where people feel afraid, demotivated and burned out. Remove this uncertainty, and fix processes then this is no doubt a great workplace.
