Pros

none - this place is awful

Cons

Working at Axos has been one of the worst employment experiences I have ever had. Managers are unapproachable and not trained in dealing with people and the technology is far behind what you would expect form an online bank. Almost every employee I talk to is either actively looking for a new job or unhappy but unable to find something better. There is a depressed/unhappy feeling throughout the building. I am an exemplary employee and the raise at my first annual review was almost laughable. During the interview process they talk about the bonus structure but half of your bonus has to go into company stock, you have no option to invest it elsewhere and it takes years to vest. So basically you are "awarded" money but Axos holds onto it and won't give it to you when you quit unless you stay for years, because most employees last less than 2 years they never see that money. It's almost a scam.

We appreciate your feedback and are disappointed to hear about your experience. Many of your comments are at odds with the findings of our annual, independently conducted employee survey. In the most recent survey from earlier this year, an overwhelming majority of Axos team members gave high marks when asked about the working relationship with their managers and their satisfaction at work. We offer a competitive compensation package that consists of a base salary and discretionary, performance-based bonuses paid out twice a year. You’re correct that our bonuses are typically given in the form of cash and stock grants, usually a 50-50 split. The stock grant is on a 3-year vesting schedule where 1/3 is earned each year. Rewarding employee performance with shares in a company and requiring a vesting period for those shares are fairly common practices in the business world. At Axos, these stock grants reinforce the idea that we all are owners of the company and have a vested interest in its success. We want you to succeed and grow at Axos, so please consider having a discussion directly with your manager about the issues that are on your mind.

Pros

Managers are highly competent – they really make it easier for people to stay organized and work efficiently. A big part of my job is managing escalations and making sure daily operations run smoothly, so there’s never a boring day. The environment is friendly and supportive; it’s obvious that people care about their work and one another.

Cons

The workload can get heavy, so strong time management skills are essential.
