Pros

Where some cannabis companies will pretend for the first year they are medical facilities interested in patient care and passionate about the plant - AYR's approach is different. Every day AYR's VPs, use their background experience from high end clothing sales and clientele management to ask What Would Walmart do? This makes it a perfect transition from people looking to make a jump from Starbucks or Target. Not only will you be better equipped to handle the burnout, you can reuse your khakis. Their staff and customers are provided with a cold and sterile stainless steel environment constructed from the cheapest materials available. Customers associate cannabis with blue lacquer and silver and the uniformity really drives sales. This is also cool because it saves on costs so when they end up laying people off again in your state, you won't have to say goodbye to too many of your friends. Also, at some point early on, they'll gather you all for photos for the diversity and inclusion tab of their website or newsletter so you'll have something to remember them by. AYR largely employees people of color so while you might be one of three people working at any given time, you will have coworkers that will understand how to comfort you when a patient or guest makes a vi*lent or r*cist threat. The chances these guests will be banned are low so it will be important to create a support system amongst yourselves so you are alerted ahead of time when the guest that s*xu*lly harassed previously has returned. AYR also offers employee discounts on their products so you can make up for the lack of upward mobility and inevitable strain or call-outs by spending what little you do make, in-house.

Cons

The mock Apple Store design doesn't attract enough of the wealthy suburban tourists all the marketing materials are geared to so while you wait for that customer to exist - some of your coworkers will have to go to free up some money for third party canvassing teams and startup costs for new store locations.

Pros

I can say AYR in union is the best dispensary to work at. From the long lunch break, benefits, and overall positive atmosphere, there's no comparison. We had a union and management always made sure we were all on the same page. I have just about 6 years experience in the industry. I have heard a lot of things about other places, and AYR by treats their employees the best

Cons

The CRC constantly changing policy. Tech issues with Dutchie. Medical patients can be difficult to deal with, but with any healthcare role, empathy will get you far

Pros

-Generous Holiday and PTO plans -Solid benefits package -Relaxed place of work

Cons

-Drama & toxic culture - feels very high school esque, upper management lacks the ability to address unprofessional behaviors and set good examples for the team -Disorganized training - Little to no support for management, you are thrown to the wolves. Sink or swim style. Everyone is burnt out quickly hence the high turnover. -No growth - getting a review or coaching is an afterthought. You will spend each day in survival mode tackling issues as they arise and upper management struggles to keep up with bonus payouts and leadership development.
