Pros
There’s a union contract and thats where literally all the decent benefits are guaranteed, even if it could use some work.
Cons
No company has ever made the bare minimum seem so difficult. Anything not guaranteed by state law will be taken away. Layoffs happen every 6-10 months, “First Fired Last Hired” is basically their guidebook. Everything has a weird corporate euphemism, it’s not layoffs it’s a “RiF” (reduction in force), this cannabis isn’t full of mold it’s “high pressure,” and Ayr Corporate doesn’t like being called corporate, they’re “The National Team.” The nepotistic culture is infuriating, just when you think you’ve met the most incompetent manager ever they hire their friend. My best friend is Black and on his first day the HR rep introduced herself and said, “So glad to see we’re hiring people from… the community now.” Claim to want to help people of color affected by the war on drugs, but that doesn’t include hiring them evidently, and the handbook policies on criminal records, criminal charges, and background checks reveal it to be pure lip service. More “women in management than any other cannabis company” yet they’re all white women.
