Pros

Perdiem pay is fair. Flexible hours. Can work 3 different shifts. Am pm and Noc shift. Staff can seem a little clickish at times but open to meeting new people and friendly. I’ve enjoyed working with everyone thus far. Everyone works as part of a treatment team. Great place to get experience in acute psych especially if your planning to become an LVN, LPT or RN.

Cons

Fast paced. Short breaks. Only a 30 minute lunch for an 8 hour shift. Sometimes there’s too much to do and not enough staff to get it done. Admissions and Discharges everyday. Can become chaotic very fast. Weekends tend to be more relaxed.

Pros

It was very easy to get overtime. They tend to promote from within.

Cons

Being understaffed made tasks much more difficult for the entire team to keep up, but we’d get yelled at and belittled by supervisors. Many employees have no psych understanding. Micro-managing. Unprofessional staff who boss other staff around. Many staff members are not professional with clients. Lack of compassion. Low pay.
