They promote who they like and make the rest jump through hoops. They promote people into manager positions that are not people persons and should NEVER be managing people. Career paths are limited. If you want to work lots of hours for below market value compensation then this is the place to be. They talk about work life balance but management doesn't demonstrate it and if you try to adhere to it your career opportunities will be limited. If you are not part of the "in crowd" don't plan on moving up very quickly in the organization.
