Middle management is abusive and incompetent. They are unwilling to listen or allow engineers to make technical decisions. Complaints to this effect are met with attempts to institutionalize the problem by putting it into a flow chart and making it a policy. Teams are heavily siloed and turf battles often erupt. Management pursues their pet projects with no regard to what their clients really want/need or what their engineers recommend.
