Pros

Unfortunately I can not think of one pro working for this company. Growing up in South FL, I'd always heard such a good reputation associated with Baptist however, after now being employed here I see to not believe everything you here in your home town.

Cons

Where should I start. 1.Minimal growth opportunity. Forgot what you know, what you went to school for, past work experience. In this company its solely about who you know. 2. They do not believe in fairness, only favoritism. 3. You are basically back in high school. Everyone will take anything you say out of context. People from any department. I have dealt with corporate, clinical, administrative, etc. Its better that the less people know the better. BUT with this company they want to know everything about you. 4. Just know you will basically be working for a fast-food "have it your way" health care provider. Nothing you say will matter, the patients (& certain individuals from corporate who meet you 1-2 times can grasp an impression of you..report it to your manager & all of a sudden you're being asked if everything's ok) hold all the power. WORST COMPANY. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM. take your skills & talents elsewhere & get paid more.

Pros

The pros are the benefits. But that is going south now too.

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism. Management will let the lazy people get away with being non productive and work the High Performers to death. They chase away all the people with good work ethic or work them until they get hurt and then they stay out on FMLA forever putting more pressure on the team. Baptist used to be a great place to work until this transformation 20/20 stuff. Now you can't even waste a sheet of toilet paper without someone threatening your job. It is becoming too stressful to even come to work every day.

Pros

High Quality nursing and quality initiatives, innovative state of the art technology, great benefits, clean upscale facilities. Salaries are competitive within market rates. Baptist has a great reputation for quality. It is where I take my family when they need medical care. It is the best hospital system.

Cons

Baptist has become all about the money and less about the employees and their patients. Transition 2020 is the new mandate with increased financial cuts and less for the employees in regards to education and benefits but with increased work responsibilities. Benefits have increased in cost as have insurance deductibles. This is a self insured company who owns hospitals, urgent care centers and diagnostic centers. They can't blame the insurance industry for increasing costs for their staff. I worked for Baptist for many years. It is not what it used to be. The bottom line has become the almighty dollar. There is no work/life balance, although they claim they are in the top 100 best companies to work for due to work/life balance opportunities. You are worked until you drop. If you can't keep up, they show you the door out, regardless if you are a long term employee or not.
