Pros
High Quality nursing and quality initiatives, innovative state of the art technology, great benefits, clean upscale facilities. Salaries are competitive within market rates. Baptist has a great reputation for quality. It is where I take my family when they need medical care. It is the best hospital system.
Cons
Baptist has become all about the money and less about the employees and their patients. Transition 2020 is the new mandate with increased financial cuts and less for the employees in regards to education and benefits but with increased work responsibilities. Benefits have increased in cost as have insurance deductibles. This is a self insured company who owns hospitals, urgent care centers and diagnostic centers. They can't blame the insurance industry for increasing costs for their staff. I worked for Baptist for many years. It is not what it used to be. The bottom line has become the almighty dollar. There is no work/life balance, although they claim they are in the top 100 best companies to work for due to work/life balance opportunities. You are worked until you drop. If you can't keep up, they show you the door out, regardless if you are a long term employee or not.
