Pros

Great opportunity to learn about automation. Work is consistent and projects are varied enough to keep it interesting. There are people here who are genuinely good. If you're looking for a steady job with predictable promotions every 2.5 years, this is it! They're moving to a brand new corporate campus in about a year.

Cons

The company culture has deteriorated over the past few years. The pay offered by Bastian is below market value for the area, and raises don't keep up. Their benefits are also mid, 4% on 401k, 15 days vacation, average dental and medical. They used to make up for below average pay with an above average culture, but have stopped all fun extras and stopped actively supporting a good culture in office. Many people have left recently, both voluntarily and involuntarily through layoffs. Management has a very old school "I had to so you do too" attitude. They won't allow work from home (unless you're friends with someone high up), they will expect you to put in extra hours (nights and weekends??) because the management had to once upon a time. There's clear favorites among management, and it's the people who are friends with the VPs/CEO, or who work crazy hours on top of their regular jobs.

Pros

Good for gaining experience Free Snacks Gain one more day of vacation each year you work there

Cons

Goodness, the nepotism and favoritism of this place is crazy. CEO's daughter is allowed to work remote from Michigan while the rest of her team is forced to be in the office in Carmel. Management is a good old boys club. Has the attitude that you should be available 24-7 for work or overtime compensation or flex time. When challenged they said "That's what I had to do back in the day" like a typical boomer. Slowly has rolled back all benefits and perks of being in person in the office. I once had a dentist appointment and was asked if I cpuld just take it on my lunch break instead of working from home for the afternoon and taking it right after work. At times feels like a sitcom for a cookie cutter toxic office
