Pros

Variable by department, the manager(s) overseeing the department, and tenure. As of late, younger employees are being hired, as well as promoted, replacing more senior staff and qualified leadership. The company population continues to become more youthful. Cheaper to hire, more affordable to insure, and much easier to fire.

Cons

Inside sales is a call center-like environment. Sales goals are unrealistic and highly unobtainable. You will be well-documented (in preparation for future employment termination) any month goals are not met. Unfortunately, latterly, leadership, sales training and guidance is profoundly absent. Other than simply keeping one’s position, sales initiatives (bonuses) have been removed. With bonuses removed, sales members - especially top performers - lost substantial income as part of their compensation plan. The promoted earning potential currently being promoted for new hires is rather misleading. If you are in operations (even as an educated and experienced employee), you will be degradingly required to clock in and out. One may be written up for the most insignificant misstep - even if doing your best and to complete the end goal, which is to serve and assist merchants. There was a strategically built ‘layered’ structure within operation. Although mini-promotions are awarded, it is a demotion to everyone else. More and more employees have less access to those with titles and decision-making ability. The operations department runs as an operational silo and cohesiveness between departments is desperately lacking. The company environment was once very supportive and positive; however, due to recent changes, turnover and layoffs/firings are on the rise. Although it has become a volatile environment, there is great effort to ‘sauver les apparences’. This is done by promoting the company’s activities on various social media platforms. It is important to note, these are mostly - if not all - planned, executed and funded by employees. Yes-Men for the company are desired and rewarded with continued employment and promotions. Sycophants succeed. Instead of listening to employees, Leadership simply pushes back and demands compliance.
