Pros
depends on your department. some areas have managers who are really flexible about scheduling. others are so difficult that they end up losing staff over scheduling alone. there are lots of opportunities for education if you have time to take advantage of them.
Cons
the benefits are pretty low considering this is the biggest employer in healthcare in the state of texas. PTO is pretty low and accrues at a really low rate. everything is heavily based on patient surveys and thus your entire career is based on replies from an average of 3% of the patients seen per year. favoritism is rampant and management ignores what the employees have to add to actually improve things to keep the bottom line where they want it even if employees can add revenue with their ideas. very much a culture of " i wont advance your ideas because it makes me look bad for not coming up with that"
