Decent company to work for, but can be frustrating - In-home ABA Therapist Behavioral Innovations Employee Review

Pros

If you work in-home, you work by yourself and you are in overall charge of sessions and how they flow. The BCBAs are very nice and fun to work with. Compensated for drive time. Will train you if you don't have any experience. They pay for your 40 hour RBT training and your CPR training. Incentive points and prizes you can receive for excelling in your sessions each month.

Cons

Very low pay compared to other ABA therapists at companies in the same area - if not the lowest out of the metroplex. The driving is very stressful and tiring. You work very long hours and have very long days if you have a full schedule. Your supervisors and the BCBAs take forever to respond to emails, if they even do. It takes forever to receive any materials and supplies needed for your session. If you do drive a lot, it's a lot of wear and tear on your car. You don't get paid days or sick days when you are part-time and often lose incentives if you have to take a sick day. Very disorganized operation of the higher-ups and your supervisors, that they often don't communicate with parents effectively and you're left cleaning up their messes. Many parents can be incredibly difficult to work with and create a larger challenge during session.

Pros

The kids were great to work with.

Cons

Management tried to get me to do unethical things and when I reported it they wrote me up in retaliation. Pay is very low. They do not give raises past a year. This creates high turn over of experienced employees.
