Pros
Discount. Easy to get hired.
Cons
Not very employee friendly anymore.. it use to be that at any given store you could always find a lot of "old timers" people who had been working there for 10, 20, 30 years. Sadly, that is no more. They cut out all the great culture and features, cool career advancement opportunites scaling a once family owned GEM with incredible buyers filling the stores with great inventory down to an unrecognizable, unimpressive, unenjoyable store and experience for customers and employees. Its like shopping at walmart now. They got rid of the entire company fashion merchandizing departments as well which is depressingly evident in all n the stores now. The once beautiful Belk stores with all the gorgeous departmental merchandise displays are a thing of the past. Now they loook exactly like a khols or jcpenny. They offer bonuses to managment for keeping under budget so they cut cost by running skeleton crews that comletely overwhelm the employees that are now expecred to handle customers for 2 or 3 departments in additiom to their own. Of course this angers customers because they cant get any service, find people to help them or check them out. Why bother go?
