Pros

- 4.5% commission sales on products at your counter, 3% commission on other beauty items. -20% discount on basically all items + extra 20% (20% and then 20%) about one weekend per month for "employee appreciation". -You are given lots of free makeup, skincare, and fragrance plus gratis every few months to spend on makeup at your counter.

Cons

-Preselling for gift with purchase has really high sales goals, and you basically spend a month begging people to spend hundred of dollars on items they cannot have until gift goes live. Make sure this is fully explained to you in your interview if you are looking for a position at clinique or estee lauder. -Managers are VERY annoying about credit cards and app downloads. -The holiday music is agonizingly terrible. -You have to wear a provided uniform for Estee Lauder and it is very uncomfortable. -On busy days you will be pulled to clothing checkouts and it is terrible. Be warned if you're looking to work in clothes. -They don't train you on makeup application very well, so make sure you have a solid understanding of it. -Belk is very "customer-focused", so rude customers always get their way. This includes being given discounts/freebies.

Pros

I loved my job. I’m met so many wonderful people. And the associates couldn’t have been better.

Cons

I hurt myself and had to have surgery, and I was on Worker’s Comp. with limited availability. Because hours were short in operations, they made up this crazy position and wanted me to be ”lead” of the markdown team. I knew that meant for the most part to do go backs. I told them I wasn’t allowed to be on my feet that long and so she said they couldn’t accommodate me and I had to leave. And then the manager had the nerve to call their workers comp and told them I wasn’t coming into work. The management at that time was horrible. But there was a time when I first started working there that to store manager, and the assistant manager were wonderful. We were all so sad they left, but it didn’t take this new manager that I was talking about any time at all to lose almost the entire store associates.
