Pros

I can truly say working at benefit was one of the best jobs I’ve had! The co-workers can be a little snobby when you first start but they’ll it sure become your best friends within a month lol. I loved interacting with different people every day. I loved that it wasn’t a job where you have the same routine everyday. The products are great and I still use them and wouldn’t ever go against benefit products. It’s a fun atmosphere as where all of the other brands are really serious at all times. It’s fun, bubbly, and just a over all great place to work plus you get gratis twice a year :)

Cons

there’s no training at all you go to a class one time if you’re hired after the training day you’ll have to wait till the following year. I jumped into this not knowing anything at all not about selling, not about their products, not even really using that much makeup myself just concealer, mascara, foundation, and powder. That was all I used when first started I am loud spoken when I get comfortable but as I was new I was uncomfortable and didn’t have any type of training. I am so great full I had a team that was willing to help me out. They’ll put you on the spot within a few days and have you do a brow tutorial on a co worker and you have to know what the product does, it’s ingredients, who it works for and who it doesn’t work for. It’s a lot to learn but if you’re fortunate enough to be a quick learner like me you’ll be fine but if not it’ll take some time. The company sends influencers here and there around the world sends them products has parties with them but the company itself never shows its appreciation to its employees period.

Pros

Working as a freelancer for Benefit Cosmetics was a fun and rewarding experience. One of my favorite parts of the job was meeting other talented makeup artists and beauty professionals. I learned so much from them—not just about Benefit products, but about makeup techniques, artistry, skincare, and the beauty industry as a whole. It was inspiring to collaborate with people who were passionate about what they do. The role also helped me build my confidence in customer service, product education, and sales. I enjoyed connecting with clients, helping them find products that suited their needs, and seeing their excitement after trying something new. Overall, the experience allowed me to grow professionally, expand my makeup knowledge, and build relationships with talented artists that I genuinely appreciated.

Cons

As a former freelancer, I found it difficult to stay passionate about promoting Benefit Cosmetics because many of the products felt overpriced compared to other brands that offer similar or better quality at a more affordable price point. In today’s beauty market, consumers have countless options, and value matters. I also would have loved to see more diversity represented in the brand’s leadership and marketing. From my perspective, it seemed that many of the higher-level positions lacked diversity, and I didn’t always feel that the brand reflected the wide range of customers and beauty professionals it serves.
