Pros

Roll over sick time and ok health benefits

Cons

The managers verbally, emotionally and mentally abuse their employees. The hours are long and breaks are often removed or moved from your book without your knowing or consent. The goals are high and unattainable. And on the off chance you do hit the goals-the management will go on to list other things you didn’t hit to render your hard work unsatisfactory. They refuse to have any team bonding/building workshops. They bully the subordinates terribly. The managers are so volatile that new hires will leave for lunch and not return. I have fellow teammates that are in therapy do to the negative treatment. This company has a serious systemic issue with bad management and bullying. It stretches from the East to the west coast. I worked for this company for over 10years. I stayed bc of the time and work I had put into building a clientele. Trying to work thru the hostile work environment, i had to be on antidepressants and had an issue with weight for the last 4-5 years of my time with this company. I did not always have a need for therapy, I loved Benefit in the very beginning. The company has changed so much and the (non-management) employees are treated so poorly-many of you would not believe me if I listed the things done to myself and others. For a company that preaches equality and tolerance…it is quite the opposite. Please, do yourself a favor, to maintain growth in ur career and stable mental health, DO NOT apply for a job at this company. Please. If I can save one person, I can rest a little easier. Avoid this company, I beg you. And all of you that have experienced the bullying from management and the lack of support and constant gaslighting from the HR department. Please report it!

Pros

Working as a freelancer for Benefit Cosmetics was a fun and rewarding experience. One of my favorite parts of the job was meeting other talented makeup artists and beauty professionals. I learned so much from them—not just about Benefit products, but about makeup techniques, artistry, skincare, and the beauty industry as a whole. It was inspiring to collaborate with people who were passionate about what they do. The role also helped me build my confidence in customer service, product education, and sales. I enjoyed connecting with clients, helping them find products that suited their needs, and seeing their excitement after trying something new. Overall, the experience allowed me to grow professionally, expand my makeup knowledge, and build relationships with talented artists that I genuinely appreciated.

Cons

As a former freelancer, I found it difficult to stay passionate about promoting Benefit Cosmetics because many of the products felt overpriced compared to other brands that offer similar or better quality at a more affordable price point. In today’s beauty market, consumers have countless options, and value matters. I also would have loved to see more diversity represented in the brand’s leadership and marketing. From my perspective, it seemed that many of the higher-level positions lacked diversity, and I didn’t always feel that the brand reflected the wide range of customers and beauty professionals it serves.
