Pros

The interview process was one of the best. Decent benefits.

Cons

I had a very difficult experience working here. At first I had high hopes. But things went from bad to worst so quickly. Training is not effective. The treatment I received from my manager was very toxic. Micromanaging, but yet when I asked to be trained over and over again, they just increased the amount of zoom meetings. Zoom meetings does not equal training. Very unorganized. And when I spoke to HR about it, I was disciplined. I was made aware that I was a "culture hire" and that I was hired because I "brought something different". And yes, that was told to me with a neck roll. I felt very belittled and I expressed multiple times that I felt I wasn't set up for success. Every day there was new 'assignments' to do. So on top of having to teach myself, meetings, calls, I also had meaningless assignments the manager would just create daily. Just overall overwhelming and my mental health took a huge hit. I also was informed that some people who started at the same time as me received a sign on bonus and I did not. I was also told that the reason for such my low salary was because of good company culture. I did not experience that in my role. They said there is good work/life balance. But the expectation was "start my day at 8am and work until all my task are done". I felt that my manager would nitpick with me daily. I never did anything right and he complained about every little thing. I felt very alone and depressed during my time here. I felt very blindsided by the company culture.

Hello! Though I am so disappointed to hear this was your experience at Beyond, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. I see it as a gift that helps us focus on the right areas of improvement, as we aim to give every employee a memorable and positive experience working here. I am just sorry that wasn’t yours. As you mentioned, training and onboarding are paramount in setting our people up for success, and we’ve recognized that gap you felt on the sales team, and have since hired a Sales Enablement Manager to help provide more support in that area. I also know working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment can be overwhelming at times, and the mental health of our employees is of utmost importance. In addition to our unlimited PTO benefit and access to employee assistance programs, we also recently implemented a “New Leader” onboarding series for our management team to learn about best practices for building and developing achieving teams, while maintaining a people-first mindset and approach. I’m excited to see positive outcomes from these initiatives. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors! -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Pros

Beyond has a strong mission, talented employees, and opportunities to work on meaningful projects. I enjoyed collaborating with cross-functional teams and appreciated the chance to contribute to innovative work. The people I worked with were supportive, skilled, and passionate about what they do. I also gained valuable experience and grew professionally during my time here.

Cons

The culture shifted significantly following management changes. There was an increased emphasis on oversight, administrative tracking, and process, which reduced autonomy and trust. As a designer, I found myself spending more time documenting work than focusing on design and creative problem-solving. Unlimited PTO policies felt restrictive in practice, making it difficult to fully disconnect and recharge. Workload distribution at times appeared inconsistent, which could impact morale and growth opportunities. These factors contributed to burnout and ultimately influenced my decision to leave.
