Pros
Some of the highest salaries in Jacksonville
Cons
Good salaries, but the environment is horrible for a growing professional. The company has grown through M&A, not innovation. Thus the environment is siloed, and top heavy for promotions, praise, and decision making. Bottom line prevails over company culture. Thus “right-sizing” (aka layoffs) are frequent. This means that everyone not in upper management or in the loop is fearful or very complacent. The company’s main product is written in Cobol, which is technology that back in the 90’s was old. Same can be said for many of their policies and procedures. Not a place to innovate or learn. Benefits are decent but not great. Vacation is not accrued (use it or lose it) and 401K match is insulting (they match 33% of your contribution up to 2%). If you can afford to participate in the Stock Purchase Plan, do so. They match 37% of your participation a year later. But beware that these are golden cuffs. If you leave the company or are terminated, you will lose the match. Same for 401K. Thus, it only works for tenured employees.
