Pros
I worked for BKFS as a Business Analyst for 4 months. I had been previously laid off from their sister company, Service Link, after 12 years. The management staff that I had were amazing. I loved working with them. They were patient, open, and willing to train where necessary. My manager also took into consideration the fact that I had been a manager for 7 years before starting with that area, so it was nice to be treated more as an equal (as much as logistically possible in regards to sharing information, etc) than a direct report.
Cons
I was laid off 4 months after I started as a result of what basically amounted to a lack of business. This explanation made zero sense, and it was clear that this was the line that was being fed to all of the staff being laid off. I was moved from one manager to another, without a real explanation, except that they wanted to keep it fresh and everyone on their toes. My new manager never said one word to me, despite walking past my desk and looking me straight in the face on several occasions. When I mentioned this to my VP, I was advised that she was busy. In addition, my new manager had no information or time for the project I was working on, so my previous manager continued working on it with me and my partner. There wasn't a hand off, and the "transition" made literally no sense.
