While it is not BlackBerry’s practice to respond to either positive or negative comments on Glassdoor or other social media, when something so important to us as our pregnancy disability policy is so seriously misstated, we will take a moment to clarify the issue. BlackBerry does not and will never discriminate in any way towards any woman who is pregnant or has a pregnancy-related disability. Whether we are hiring, promoting or terminating, pregnancy is never a consideration with respect to any employment-related decision. In fact, when we are considering a lay-off, BlackBerry’s practice in North America is not to terminate a woman who is approaching her due date. We are conscious of delaying termination actions in order to ensure that there is no impact to maternity leave or associated benefits.
