My immediate team was fantastic, but they were all driven away. Safe and stable option for those who want to sit around and do nothing.
Cons
It’s humiliating to tell people you work or worked for BlackBerry, nobody believes it. The company seems hostile to it’s employees. They will offer nothing beyond what is legally obligated. Traditional courtesies such as two weeks notice are not honored. They want employees to sign non-competes as if they have something special that needs to be protected. They headquarter themselves in California where this is illegal, but still seem to think it’s acceptable elsewhere. Even where such an agreement is legal, it should be signed in exchange for something of value, not the privilege of working at a failing tech company. Poor branding and marketing decisions seemed to be driven by leadership ego. Executive leadership seems remarkably tone deaf, and doesn’t seem to understand or believe in the products.
