Pros
Bloodworks is filled with wonderful people working hard to fulfill our mission. With more than 75 years of service, there is a variety of long-timers and new comers that makes the workplace vibrant and active.
Cons
In-fighting among executives and a tolerance for blaming and victimization has left me feeling as though department metrics are more important than organizational culture. There is a lot of secrecy, hidden agendas, and finger pointing that created, for me, a hostile working environment. Years of deficit cash flows has left the organization in a state of emergency, resulting in layoffs and workforce reductions. Those left behind are burdened with keeping things together while many departments struggle to maintain basic systems. The lack of coordination is so bad that despite paying millions in contractors, there is still no unified information system to track donor information, nor is there a cohesive strategy for retaining long-term donors.
