Pros

Salary is high, culture is friendly and work is ok. Culture discourages working after noon on Fridays. 10% yearly bonus

Cons

Some managers ask for nothing except peace and quiet. Others stamp their feet and demand things they don't understand. Management wastes their time on big hairy audacious goals theyll never achieve like converting every IT job/process/capability/service into a packable service that "can be sold to other Blues". We're told - while you're supporting this badly built defective application, document the F outta it so we can create a copy of this POS for Blue Shield of Whatever. Ok right. We can barely keep it working as it is and you think it's a good idea to clone it and support 2 of them? The L.O.V.E. program allows everyone to give $10 worth of Love Points per quarter to coworkers for encouragement. Big whoop. They're Cheap about the nice to have perks. There have been 2 recent rounds of layoffs of about 250 people each in 2025. Someone I worked with was laid off.in Dec, and management had no idea how they would patch the hole. Which left us to clean up the mess. Laying them off just before Christmas with a skimpy severance was a pretty scrooge move.

Pros

Limited knowledge transfer and onboarding support for new team members. New hires are often expected to figure things out with minimal guidance. Workplace politics can sometimes impact collaboration and decision-making. Managers may not always be actively involved in supporting team members or addressing concerns. Full-time employees are occasionally treated differently than contractors, creating an uneven work environment. Documentation and process knowledge sharing could be improved. Work culture can be stressful at times, leading to challenges with work-life balance and employee morale.

Cons

Good exposure to projects and technologies. Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
