Pros

Most co-workers are nice and there is still some flexibility about work hours.

Cons

Noncompetitive salary, benefits, and technology are more than palatable when they are offset by the ability to work flexible hours remotely at a nonprofit. Even ongoing layoffs and downgrades were somewhat acceptable -- or at least not unexpected given financial "headwinds." But now, a new for-profit focus and return-to-office mandate pretty much wipe out the trade-offs, and the RTO really hits caregivers hard. If this is a move to nudge certain groups out the door, it is not very strategic given that the best in will be the first out. It also goes against the stated culture and values of inclusion, etc. Lip service sucks.

Pay, hours, management, culture, resources.

Retention! I only would have liked to have my contract renewed.

Pros

Limited knowledge transfer and onboarding support for new team members. New hires are often expected to figure things out with minimal guidance. Workplace politics can sometimes impact collaboration and decision-making. Managers may not always be actively involved in supporting team members or addressing concerns. Full-time employees are occasionally treated differently than contractors, creating an uneven work environment. Documentation and process knowledge sharing could be improved. Work culture can be stressful at times, leading to challenges with work-life balance and employee morale.

Cons

Good exposure to projects and technologies. Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
