Pros
It's really difficult to find a pro among so many negative experiences.
Cons
First, ensure if you get promised a hybrid working environment, 2 days at home, 3 in office...that you get it in writing. Boart Longyear uses this as a tool to attract talent but does not honor it for some departments. Furthermore, they also promise to have a structure of growth where a new hire can learn and grow. This is a lie. They do not have the structure in place to do this. When asked, upper management states, "We don't but we have the opportunity to create it". Then why would you answer this as a "yes" during the phone screening? More importantly, the company has a toxic working environment that when asked, upper management states "That is just the way it is here". In addition, the lack of basic human respect for each other, overflow of work tasks, and borderline harassment new hires experience in their first few weeks is out of control. Add to this ineffective leaders who make their employees work while on vacation, to hiring managers who don't know the basics of a new hires first few weeks...items such as scheduling, and you have a caldron of misguided, irresponsible, and lazy leaders who do more harm than good. Why does your company have high turn over in some departments? I wonder why.
