Pros

Bonterra, formerly Social Solutions, was a good company, with a great product, and an evolving business plan while I worked there from 2019 - 2022. The team is filled with hardworking and bright individuals. My colleagues were engaged and supplemented their developmental gaps (most middle management skewed very slightly young) with strong intellect and work-ethic.

Cons

Though the leadership leaned to the young side, they all leaned to the same complected side, as did the workforce. Before its emergence as Bonterra alongside a partnership of other social good companies, Social Solutions paid rigorous detail to its hiring of bright-minded individuals. It did not give as much attention to ensuring that their career paths, experience, and cultural makeups were as diverse. Out of 250-ish people when I began, 10 were non-white. Also, pay was on the lower side for a successful tech company beginning to etch out a substantial niche in its respective vertical.

Pros

good benefits, great co workers, meaningul work

Cons

Upper leadership is horrible, they have had 4 layoffs in the last 2 to 3 years. Leadership has tanked the culture completely, encouraging product managers to bully developers saying "put a boot in their a**" when developers push back on deadlines. Leadership seems fine with laying off employees at the slightest problem rather than working to grow their employees. I worked there for three years, the beginning of my experience was good but the end was horrible right before i was let go with absolutely no warning, Each c-suite leader brings in their own buddies rather than growing the existing employees which results in mistrust and a horrible employee experience Used to be a good company but now just feels like a sinking ship.
