Pros

Remote work. Benefits eh. Pay batter after union contract.

Cons

Everything else. Bonterra is a conglomerate of better companies and ideas that have been systematically dismantled in favor of higher ELT pay and the active recruiting of additional VPs at the expense of the jobs of many passionate people trying to make the world a better place. There is no job security and morale is abysmal. The only people making out good right now are the people that have golden parachutes lined up already. For a progressive company ELT has actually stated to employees they have no idea how to improve diversity. A slack channel is doing the most. Women and POC have been pushed out of leadership positions only to be replaced by white men. Seriously, look at any pictures of leadership. Maybe Google some of the historical shots for comparison. We aren't talking about an abstract thing, or an I feel like this is happening, but issues communicated by the actual women and POC being impacted. They have had 4 rounds of layoffs so far and everyone in the company expects that to continue. Yet during meetings the CEO walks on his treadmill looking bored or leadership gets interrupted by their gardeners. They talk about employees who's livelyhood they endangered like they left of their own violations singing songs of joy and goodwill. The CEO is actively combative with employees in his blogs and in meetings and really comes off like he does not want you there. I believe him. They engage in union busting techniques while espousing the virtues of unions and how supportive they are to the ones already on the platform. The political arm, aka the platform used by the DNC for fundraising and communication, is being neglected and support, from customer facing to back end, has been hit hard by the layoffs. It is 2024 and their core values aren't "support our clients in this pivotal, existential crisis of a year." If you have questions about the Bonterra company values, search the companies they are taking money from. Dig in to the private equity firm's details. If you interview, don't fall for the lines about being "Doers of good." They Do Not Care about you or their clients. If you choose to take the job anyway, make sure you definitely have an emergency fund. You'll need it when they cut your job. Be aware that any perks they sell you will be cut, made worse, less valuable, or all of the above in the next year.

Pros

As a person, I felt well taken care of by my management chain. We were encouraged to explore and be vocal and I never felt micromanaged.

Cons

- Questionable payment structure for ICs (no bonus plan) - Leadership doesn't do much of anything but takes all of the credit while the rest of us get laid off - Like most companies run out of Austin, it's a cash grab at the top while ICs do all of the work with little direction
