Pros

-ICs were cool -benefits are standard -unlimited PTO

Cons

-Bonterra and its multi-company merge was the most chaotic experience I had ever been through -Rotating managers, team members -Having one employee routinely let go every 90 days outside of annual layoffs for no reason given -no one really had any idea of what was going on or clear strategy given by executives except reducing headcount and spend -leadership saying "we're saving the world" by selling software to enterprise nonprofits -performance based culture where they cut your team down to 2 people and demand the output of 6 -Rumors circulating the CEO using Bonterra's product NGP VAN for clout in Austin Tech parties and groupchats. NGP used to be its own company but got merged with the other companies in the meatball rollup. NGP VAN is the database used by the Democratic Party and the CEO would regularly go to to Austin tech elite parties claiming/complaining about how the DNC would "act" with Bonterra for clout with VCs and tech CEOs. -CEO never really addresses or makes effort to fix culture besides hosting ice cream socials and then complaining on his confluence blog about how no one wants to get along. Then posts pictures of lions from his safari trip to Kenya.

Pros

As a person, I felt well taken care of by my management chain. We were encouraged to explore and be vocal and I never felt micromanaged.

Cons

- Questionable payment structure for ICs (no bonus plan) - Leadership doesn't do much of anything but takes all of the credit while the rest of us get laid off - Like most companies run out of Austin, it's a cash grab at the top while ICs do all of the work with little direction
