Pros

Amazing culture with fellow employees. Small hospital so you know everyone, really get to know the providers. Teamwork is amazing.

Cons

No support from management if patients are verbal/physical abusive to staff. Pay is 10$ less an hour for entry level than every other hospital in the denver area, especially compared to cost of living in Boulder. EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED but not doing anything to retain employees. I have heard multiple stories about employees being treated poorly by physicians, with no follow through or investigations. Have very limited experience with this myself. Attached psychiatric hospital would rather hold patients in the ICU than admit them, wasting medical resources.

Pros

Good health benefits and good dental benefits for the money paid out. Loved that BCH waived copays for employees and their families when we saw BCH providers.

Cons

Upper management was often dismissive and uncaring. Other managers in my group cared more about their budgets than their employees. I was an outcast as I really did care about my employees and wanted to make sure they knew that. Some of the providers that worked there were bullies. I was often bullied by several of the providers in that practice and once was accused of lying about an illness and the reason that I was not in the clinic that day. Very nosey too, always wanting me to give them information on why a staff member was out and when they would be returning, which was a violation to the staff’s medical privacy. Several of the providers were in a competition with each other to see how many patients they could see in a day regardless of how good patient care was.
