Pros
The Brainshark application works reliably and is easy to use for clients, fun to demo for reps. Customer care and support is top notch. Solid mix of internal sales and marketing tools all connected within Salesforce.com to aid productivity. Modern office close to Commuter Rail and major highways. Good benefits such as 401k matching, 3 weeks of vacation to start, and choice of health plans. Financially stable from a recognizable base of customers, and profitable. Monthly parties enforce bonds amongst a good group of employees.
Cons
Sales management has had multiple EVPs and VPs come and go in the last 3 years which has resulted in frequent changes in territory, accounts, and focus. Sales quotas have risen while commission percentages have fallen year to year since 2013. Inbound leads have slowed significantly. Ironically, executives push the Sales Enablement use case of the software as one that will help reps in all industries meet quotas, yet less than 10% of new business reps hit quota at Brainshark. If you hear any number higher than that from a recruiter, the are including renewal reps or lying. Even if you exceed quotas you will have to leave Brainshark to move your career forward because promotions are extremely rare.
