Pros
Brandeis itself is a special place. Dedicated top-notch faculty, wonderful students, many smart staff members. Great benefits, decent compensation. Campus has nice amenities & is very commutable by public transportation or driving. New president (Lawrence) seems to have brought much hope to campus after tough times of the past few years.
Cons
I worked for Library & Technology Services (LTS), and these comments are directed to that department. The previous review is right on - LTS is in a bad state, and has been for years. Constant upheaval, poor leadership, and zero internal communication led to widespread malaise and ongoing attrition of talented staff. Many in power seem too busy with buck-passing, playing politics, and finding the next great conference to attend rather than manage their direct reports, let alone serve the Brandeis community.
