Pros

The mission was very near and dear to my heart as I have a loved one affected by T1D. The volunteers and chapter staff were such a delight to work with and made going to work every day worth it.

Cons

The bonus, raise and payment structure were so unbelievably unfair. The regional and national staff are overpaid and under qualified. The chapter staff, who are the staff who raise the funds, plan the events, and foster relationships with donors and volunteers are the ones who are compensated for their hard work the least. Chapter staff feedback and concerns that are addressed with regional and national staff don’t seem to be considered or followed up on. The HR staff is complacent and in my opinion, useless. I loved my job and it was so hard for me to leave behind the relationships that I made within the community. But I could no longer continue to work for regional and national staff who made you feel as though you were replaceable and not valued.
