Pros
Working with some great volunteers and leaders.
Cons
Staff are asked to make positive reviews on Glassdoor- instead of actually doing something to make the staff happier. Absolutely unstable National Directory and constant Re-Orgs. Regional Staff are incompetent to see where there are real problems in chapters and do not value the time and energy the actual Chapter stuff put in versus the Executive Directors who in many chapters do nothing to support the actual budget. National Walk staff refuse to see that their ideas for the Walk are non-inventive and their "V1P" tents and lanyards after 5 years still aren't making a difference to those who fundraise. Chapter staff are expected to do everything from graphic design, run the local website and social media outlets, large and small event planning, fundraising, sell sponsorships, donor stewardship and problem resolution with most of the time only a staff of 3. National departments are very cliquey and do not listen to the advice of donors or staff. The most salary increase you can get year over year is 3% no matter how hard you've worked or went over your goals. Pay scales are completely all over the place despite "cost of living." Your co-worker in a similar city could be making $10K more than you a year or more. Inefficient and old school mentalities in leadership while we are living in a progressive time. You will meet to meet to death - meetings after meetings. Staff are mentally and emotionally abused, you will never do enough, so why try. You can hit your budget and get a pat on the back and then they come back and tell you to do more. There is literally no break, you are expected to run all events annually despite the crossover in donors and sponsors. So every day you are pulled in every direction possible.
