Pros
The mission is true, actionable and making a real difference in the lives of those with type 1 diabetes. Great medical benefits. The people that work hard really make it a pleasure to work with.
Cons
A few years ago, the change in leadership altered the course of the organization for the worst. The inability to make decisions or act with confidence left middle managers and their reports to have to manage everything without prioritization. Even more importantly, there is a severe lack of diversity on the board, in leadership and throughout the organization. There is a lot of talk, but not much action. As with lack of guidance from leadership, this also meant chapters and departments were left with zero to little guidance on how to handle DE&I. The people that don't work hard at JDRF are rewarded for their behavior. 20% of the staff do 80% of the work.
