Pros
Helping children is the best cause anyone could work for.
Cons
Extremely disfunctional. The company is run by cronies of Kim Cripe, the CEO. Discover her tactics or her surrogates and you're out. Overworked and underpaid is the norm. There is no personal satisfaction when you hear how much money goes to the CEO per year while overall company salaries average 1-2% increase per year if you're lucky. This year the CEO's salary was $1,800,000, up from $1,500,000 last year! That's an 8% increase or enough money to hire 4-5 more nurses! What does she do for all that money? She simply caresses the doners, accepts their donations, and plays politics with the Boards to keep her job. I don't begrudge anyone for being successful but the CHOC employees don't even make industry wages and everyone in executive managment makes far more than industry standards! The question must be asked; Why is CHOC looking for new workers while paying a consulting company a fee for three years advising them where to make personnel cuts? This is for appearances only. They are only replacing managment and technical personnel who have left or have been pushed out . Don't think of working for this company unless you want your life to turn upside down. The other negative comments on this site are truthful. READ THEM CLOSELY! The short positive comments are plants by the company; I know one of them and she is in management working closely with the CEO. If I had researched the company's reputation in the community beforehand, I would never have gone to work for them.
