Cons
Lack of training with managers thinking its best to throw someone into the "deep end" and watch them "sink or swim". management may actively block you from pursuing other opportunities within the company. No clear distinction between different roles within the department. Feedback isn't given or only passive positive feedback (i.e. saying "you're doing fine" but criticizing you to others in the department). Lack of integrity from senior leadership in regards to campus recruiting (i.e. will show off young managers who received multiple promotions in less than a year to campus recruited as an example of how fast they can move up with in the company, despite the new policy that limits promotions to only once per year). It is common for management to choose external candidates over internal candidates for open positions due to political reasons. How much you learn, develop, and grow from this role is largely determined by who your manager is. If you have a bad manager you'll have an easier time finding a different job than trying to move internally. Don't come to this department unless you are a fan of high school-esq drama and gossiping, no career/skill development, no training, and poor, inefficient management that will prevent you from trying to pursue better opportunities outside the department.
