Pros

Caesars Entertainment is a good starting point for a career. It's a large corporation, so experiences can vary wildly depending upon the department that you work in. I worked in the Finance/Accounting department. The company has a lot of small perks, such as food, ticket offers, and team engagement events. The training is great and the people are all very nice. If you know programming, you're going to be a better fit than an actual Accountant. The finance department continues to move toward automation and application development. You'll work long hours but if you're entry-level, it's a good experience and a great place to learn work discipline and competition in a fast-paced environment. Personality goes a long way and if you exhibit an upbeat and positive attitude, you'll do okay working here.

Cons

You work long, hard hours for all of the perks given. The salaries, especially for entry-to-mid-level positions, is not comparable to what you could be earning elsewhere. In Accounting, the hours are long year-round. If you are one of the select few who gets promoted, then you'll most likely continue to rise to the top of the organization and receive much better compensation. But again, it's a 24/7 job--blackberries, laptops, and e-mail access from your home never allow you to "turn off" from work. In my opinion, consolidated finance is going in too many different directions at once. It's unavoidable based upon the financial structure of the company, but it's a warning toward anyone looking to work here. E-mails will flow into your mailbox around the clock. Excellent organization, prioritzation techniques, and 100% focus are absolutely critical in this environment. The pride of being part of the "elite" is going to have to be sufficient to keep you motivated. Knowledge and technical ability may not lead to a promotion; favortism is still an issue here. This is not the area to work in if you desire a work/life balance.

Pros

Peers and teammates are supportive of each other. For a digital organization, the pay was very good but I believe they've significantly reduced salaries. Some of the managers were very good.

Cons

The Caesars Digital team operated in a flat organization, where some GMs were trying to actively manage teams of 75-150 individuals. Career growth is almost non-existent as a result. C-suite management was non-existent and came from finance or hospitality backgrounds. Org success was purely tied to annual EBITDA and without understanding of how a digital/engineering organization should be run, resulting in disconnected employees (most of whom were remote), lack of scalable structure, and zero oversight.
