Pros

Fairly good company, even paid us during a second shutdown that closed casinos and hotels locally. Pay was fairly good for position, benefits were decent. Frequent employee appreciation events and nice break room.

Cons

Management didn't seem to care. Some employees could get away with not cleaning bathrooms, not vacuuming rooms, constant bad inspection results, all with no consequences. I personally saw one employee even have the hotel manager personally request that all the rooms they cleaned be taken off market for inspection more than once. This employee still worked there when I quit despite a lack of improvement, and was never punished to my knowledge. However, other employees would be heavily micromanaged and yelled at for small mistakes, showing clear double standards and favoritism in play. It seemed to myself and others that our supervisor just liked to use their power to tell people what to do, and when people didn't listen simply gave up. This led to an environment where people who worked hard and did what they were supposed to were treated worse than those who slacked off and made constant, egregious mistakes. Our other supervisor just went along with them, and our department manager never seemed to care either despite being aware of much of the poor performance. Management never seemed to listen to any suggestions or concerns either. Often after making a suggestion to my supervisor they'd say it was a good idea, then mention it to the other employees once and never again, so that things quickly went back to normal. Once I pointed out that people parking their carts incorrectly in the supply closets was even leading to equipment we didn't have much stock of being broken, and this was never even addressed. While my problems were primarily with my specific team and department, company wide the attendance policy did seem overzealous in some ways. We were required to call in at least two hours before shifts, and this applied even when our supervisors wouldn't even be in yet, and despite the fact that many people on the morning shifts likely weren't even awake that early. Failure to do so would result in an additional half of an attendance point (a normal call off was one point). However, calling in after the start of the shift by any amount of time was an additional full two points, meaning a difference of a few minutes could outright quadruple the punishment received. There was no differentiation between call offs and sick days either, and even if you got sick at work and were sent home by management you would STILL receive at least half a point for the day despite not even being given a choice. While I can't speak for the company at large my department never seemed to give out raises, as some long term employees complained about having not received one in a long time. Some were even being paid less than newly hired employees.

Pros

They spoke of high opportunity for promotion or moving within company after 90 Days but did not stay long enough to see if that's true.

Cons

Very toxic culture. Many unprofessional colleagues with horrible language and work behaviors. Shady management who "throw you in" and don't properly train or coach. Management has perks like free meals whereas other employees are relegated to the soup line literally. Constant confusion and managers that think they are above first line employees.
