Pros

Autonomy - Always question the current way of doing things (better, better, never best) WIllingness / Openness cross-functionally (which is a challenge at a corporate level). Diversity - encourage diversity in personality, industry backgrounds, very diverse group of individuals Good values (support small BSP's+under served communities+sustainable energy) Focus on providing classes for skill growth + mental health

Cons

Cons are associated w/Growing pains - remote work makes it hard to train new employees, knowledge base still being iterated on. Many acronyms Also most of these positive reviews are from newer employees (still in the honeymoon phase) - read some from more veteran employees for a better idea.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review on Calix! At Calix, we believe that our employees should feel supported and empowered to work autonomously to achieve their goals. We are so glad that you have experienced this throughout your time with us! As we grow, we continue to collect feedback from our employees on their experiences. Based on this feedback, the Learning and Development team is currently revamping our Employee Onboarding Program. We know remote work has many perks and challenges, so we are enhancing our onboarding program to ensure a seamless experience for new employees. Additionally, we have started quarterly Meet Up Groups for all major cities in North America with more than ten employees. This program was put into place to increase a sense of community and belonging for our remote first work force. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other feedback, we appreciate hearing from our employees!

Pros

Calix offers a highly collaborative, customer‑first environment where strong cross‑functional partnerships are genuinely valued. The culture encourages ownership, accountability, and proactive problem‑solving, especially when supporting high‑impact customers and complex initiatives. Leadership is accessible and supportive, and there’s a real emphasis on continuous improvement, process refinement, and professional growth. If you enjoy meaningful work, transparency, and being trusted to make decisions that positively impact both customers and the business, Calix is a great place to build and grow your career.

Cons

As with many fast‑growing, customer‑focused organizations, the pace at Calix can be demanding, particularly during peak periods or when managing complex, cross‑functional initiatives. Processes and tools are continuously evolving, which can occasionally create ambiguity and require adaptability. Aligning across multiple teams and priorities sometimes takes persistence, and success often depends on being proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable navigating change. That said, these challenges tend to come with opportunities for visibility, impact, and growth.
