Pros

they’re constantly hiring for the same departments they’re doing layoffs for, so this is good for the newcomers. Also the management aren’t that competent. So you won’t be put to work. For some that’s a pro.

Cons

Constant layoffs, annual Christmas layoffs every year (so the affiliations/mergers layoffs aren’t really “change”, they’re “more of the same”). Leadership is constantly firing people and doing reorgs (which means, even more layoffs). Leadership is very proud of this, boasting. At company wide meetings employees even say are we even going to have jobs. That’s how unstable this place is. Layoffs are not new to this organization. “Change” for this company would mean “stop laying people off”. When you join this company, you will notice a competitive environment and very little productivity. Rather than joking a team and getting to work, these people need to play game of thrones, and very little gets done. It is an incredibly boring job. Do what’s best for your career and sanity by avoiding or leaving this place.

Pros

Some of the smartest bright-minded people in IT work there, or used to. Decent pay and benefits.

Cons

The company appears to be in a constant state of reorganization, creating ongoing uncertainty about job security and contributing to low employee morale. This lack of stability has led to confusion, shifting priorities, and an overall lack of focus, which is reflected in the high turnover currently seen within the IT organization. This is especially disappointing because the company was once known for attracting and retaining IT professionals who built long, successful careers there. Leadership appears to lack a clear, unified vision, and that disconnect starts at the highest levels of the organization. Compared with the previous CEO, who despite his shortcomings was widely respected and viewed as an approachable leader, the current leadership feels much more removed from employees. There was once a stronger sense that executives understood and were connected to the day-to-day experiences of the workforce. Today, that connection feels significantly diminished, leaving many employees with the impression of a growing divide between the C-suite and the people doing the work. Honestly, it's quite sad what has happened to Cambia.
