Toxic environment - Project Manager Cambia Health Solutions Employee Review

Pros

The checks cleared. The cafeteria was really great and had wonderful soups.

Cons

Incredibly toxic environment with terrible training, passive aggressive managers and significant backstabbing / tribal mentalities. Jobs were consistently created for contractors that were told would last at least a year and only actually scoped out for 3 months. Many business ventures were purposely set up to fail - possibly for tax write-offs? Incredibly hostile upper management that seemed at odds with each other at all times. Paid $20/hr less than identical positions at other companies.

Pros

Some of the smartest bright-minded people in IT work there, or used to. Decent pay and benefits.

Cons

The company appears to be in a constant state of reorganization, creating ongoing uncertainty about job security and contributing to low employee morale. This lack of stability has led to confusion, shifting priorities, and an overall lack of focus, which is reflected in the high turnover currently seen within the IT organization. This is especially disappointing because the company was once known for attracting and retaining IT professionals who built long, successful careers there. Leadership appears to lack a clear, unified vision, and that disconnect starts at the highest levels of the organization. Compared with the previous CEO, who despite his shortcomings was widely respected and viewed as an approachable leader, the current leadership feels much more removed from employees. There was once a stronger sense that executives understood and were connected to the day-to-day experiences of the workforce. Today, that connection feels significantly diminished, leaving many employees with the impression of a growing divide between the C-suite and the people doing the work. Honestly, it's quite sad what has happened to Cambia.
