Pros

POTENTIAL to make a lot of money (but 90% of salesmen will not). If you have a conviction record or are on drugs then this is the place for you because they don't drug test or do background checks. About half of my coworkers were ex-cons or had ankle monitors or came to work high on meth.

Cons

Many negatives, but I will try to list a few based on my experience: Deceptive recruiting practices. I resigned from a good job to take this job because the manager who interviewed me was dishonest about the pay structure. My fault for being naive. Long hours. 11 hour days are standard. Expect to stay late or come in on your day off for a delivery (when your customer picks up their camper). If you are not there for your delivery, half your commission will go to someone else. When sales were down they often made everyone stay late to cold call customers until 9pm. Expect to work 60-70 hours/week. Constant micromanagement is the norm. Revolving door of RV sales associates as they will hire anyone who applies. Most last a couple months or less. Expect to be treated like expendable cannon fodder because that's all you really are in their eyes. They know you will sell a few units and move on just like the dozens, possibly hundreds, of salesmen who came before you. Even the great salesmen get fed up within 1-2 years and find something better. Had to spend a couple hours every morning picking up trash and blowing up and hanging balloons all over the lot. Often didn't even get to start doing sales activities until 11am. Sales in spring and summer are pretty good and you might make some money. Sales in fall and winter drop to almost nothing and everyone gets desperate and then the back stabbing begins. I could go on and on but these are just a few things that come to mind.
