You will not be rewarded - Software Developer Capital Insurance Group Employee Review

Pros

Love the people here, the software teams truly are family. You will be supported and taught what you need to know, hours are flexible, and IT is fully remote (the only division in the company to enjoy this privilege). The company is thriving financially and does profit-sharing, it has and probably will be around forever.

Cons

Unfortunately, the teams are not responsible for salary, and it shows. We've been hemorrhaging our most talented people for years because of this. Promotions without raises are commonplace. You will be underpaid as long as you stay at the company, period. Management is well aware of this issue, but IT has a backbone of truly exceptional developers (contractors on work visas) who cannot leave and a revolving door of fresh graduates who stay just long enough to get legitimate offers from a company that will pay them what they're worth. Unfortunately this ecosystem has been working for close to a decade.

Pros

My team was great, no issues there.

Cons

The revolving door of third-party vendors made things extremely difficult.
