Pros
I’m sure most people who have been reading these reviews understand the saying “one man’s trash is another one’s treasure.” Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, which is encouraged and fostered at Captora. People are not fired because they have the courage to openly express their opinions, rather they are just plain not performing. We have many examples of people getting promoted and/or salary increases because of the excellent contributions they make. Our CEO listens to frustrations and issues. Last year he made the necessary changes in Engineering leadership, who have hired extraordinarily talented technical people who meet challenges with focus and determination. These people worked tirelessly to launch a new release containing remarkable product improvements. Necessary changes are happening right now on the Sales side. Roles have been clarified, territories have been expanded, playbooks have been created and the pricing model has been changed, contrary to what people are saying. If it’s so bad, how did we just close one of the biggest deals in the company’s history in record time? A passive lead that was generated by an awesome SDR sending a compelling email and then pursued by a relatively new AE who doggedly managed the sales process to a close in less than 30 days. Captora is not a place where a complacent attitude of “if it comes, we will build it” is acceptable. If you are someone who isn’t afraid to face challenges head-on with a positive make-it-happen attitude, a continuing belief in the clearly articulated vision and a desire to collaborate with [mostly] great colleagues, you will thrive in our environment. If you are uncomfortable with ambiguity and change, want to get paid without putting forth much effort and do your best work flying under the radar, go to a bigger, more established and multi-layered company. If this is what you “aspire” to, we don’t want you. And for those of you still at Captora who share the same feelings as the posters of these negative reviews, YOU are the ones who are the major contributors to the problems you express. Do us all a favor and leave.
Cons
Captora is a start-up. Sometimes things change more quickly than some can absorb. And some changes may have unintended negative impact. Take a little more time to think through the impact on the business and organization before making these types of changes.
