Pros

Great clients and their families were amazing. Access to online training, which is nice. Paid training and mileage. Access to excellent program materials.

Cons

No advancement or learning opportunities. Clinical supervisors are rarely open to providing BT's with advancement opportunities. Sometimes they do not even respond when you contact them for information or tips to learn more. Do not offer RBT training. There is no regard to BT's or their input. We spend all the time with the clients but yet, we don't know anything. A lot of clients hardly see their BCBA. Minimum insurance requirements are met with this. No reimbursement to BT's for the money they put towards clients i.e: toys for therapy play, some program materials that seniors lack to provide, and even food used for reinforcement. Makes it hard to talk to management when they have all been friends before they even started working at Caravel, especially when employees are 100% new to the field and see this.

Pros

- Consistent opportunities for growth - Willing to help you get RBT certified quickly - Willing to hire pretty much anyone (see cons too)

Cons

- Extremely high turnover and burnout rate - Unspoken expectation to 'just tough it out' or leave - Poor management at the time (and high turnover of management/BCBAs too) - Constant drama/'tea' between employees - Numerous firings due to employees abusing clients or constantly calling in 'sick' and messing up everybody else's schedules for the day
