Pros

The clients and their families were great, for the most part. There was a wealth of resources for senior staff (supplies as well as programming), and most of the other seniors were great to work with. My supervisor was incredibly helpful and supportive but is no longer with the company, either.

Cons

Over the course of several years, the quality of services decreased. The owners made it very clear that they only cared about early intervention clients, leaving most of their older clients without services unless their families were willing to jump through several unnecessary hoops including taking them out of school for a significant part of the week. I was treated poorly by upper management when I decided to leave. For a senior staff, there is little to no work-life balance. Regardless of how often you stress that you may not respond after/before a reasonable time or on the weekend, it will be disregarded. It would be a different story if we were provided with work phones, but we had to use our personal phones.

Unsupportive environment

Pros

Top of the ABA industry as far as using technology and focusing on high clincial standards.

Cons

Too much focus from the executive team on growth and not enough focus and support on the centers that they already do have. The same group of 10 executives keep getting promoted to new made up positions (imo), but yet, I’m sure they have never actually done the 1:1 therapy with the children. They could sacrifice a few promotions and pay their front-line workers a lot more. They also brag about employing top industry leaders but where we’re consistently unavailable to help and set foot in a clinic when help was needed. As a clinic director, you are set with unrealistic goals and promises for bonuses that are unattainable. If anyone leaves in your clinic, it is your responsibility to cover that position, as well as do your own position. It also is hard to work for a company that only bashes you when you leave and blaims problems on you even when you only received “exceptional” level reviews the whole time you were there.

Pros

- BCBA and Senior staff were always supportive of each other and their RBT/BTs. - Welcoming environment for all staff and client, for the most part, appeared happy with lots of smiles and laughter between staff, client, and peers. - CD did her best to accommodate where she could and promote success among all staff members. - Great "starter company" for ABA (but if you have any experience find a position elsewhere -- watch out for compliance-based ABA therapy which is abuse -- it pays much better).

Cons

- Upper management ("behind the desk-ers") created unnecessary goals for Seniors, BCBAs, and CDs to meet that appeared to be helpful but created another barrier for already low-paid Senior staff. - Senior staff pay is a joke, glorified BTs that are overworked and under-appreciated by the company as a whole (CD did her best to make SS feel appreciated). Do not have the position of SS (the middle man) if you cannot pay a livable wage. - CAH is limiting their older clients and forcing them out, as well as, pushing center clients only. Center is great, but is so limiting and does not address behavioral concerns in the home environment.
